Since 1995, SMRR's activity has been the recovery of cardboard to meet the needs of other subsidiaries of its group. Its growing knowledge of the paper and cardboard markets enabled rapid development and opened the way to the export of bales of cardboard waste.

SMRR also started to invest in the transformation of recovered cardboard waste to move up the value chain of this product. SMRR is currently investing in two new production lines for egg trays through its subsidiary SMPPAO “Moroccan Company for the Production of Egg Trays” SMPPAO « Société Marocaine de Production de Plateaux Alvéoles pour Œufs »
